My name is Barbara Smit and I’m 29 years old. I currently live in Lelystad with my boyfriend, always happy son and a beautiful daughter.
When I was a little girl I always wanted to work in the zoo, but because of an scooter accident I couldn't fulfill my dream, so I had to look for another dream and that's when I found Graphic and Digital Design.
On 29th of January 2020 I graduated as bachelorstudent Communication and Multimedia Design (CMD) at the University of Applied Sciences (UoAS/HvA). Before I started this study I completed the study Graphic Design (2015) at MediaCollege Amsterdam. When I graduated I was thinking what am I gonna do now, I like to learn and I like to know more about digital design, so I made the choice to go to follow the course Communication and Multimedia Design at the University of Applied Sciences.
During this lasted study I’ve had a short internship at WorkSprout and after this internship I’ve worked here for 6 months. After these 6 months the company want to focus on different things like Biano. Worksprout is still giving me a few assignments a year. In my last year I had an internship at Cycle Media as visual and digital designer. I was responsible for the graphic design posts, animations and showcase websites.
In my third year (2018) I took the courses Digital Marketing analytics (DMA), during this course I’ve analyzed a lot of data and worked with multiple programs like Tableau and SPSS. This course has learned me that there are a lot of ways to gain the experiences of the users. It also learned me that communication is the key to success. My ambitions lay within the UX / UI Design, Online marketing, Data analysis, graphic design for off and online.
I’ve experience with coding (HTML/CSS Javascript). My pitfall is that I bring too much work upon myself. At the moment I am maintaining the website AWplus.nl. I designed this website first in Experience Design (Adobe XD). When the developer has everything was set up in Wordpress. I put all the content in the format. We’re now slowly setting up their social media, so they have more engagement with the focus group in Street furniture.
For Youngpwr I've created a content platform (which is currently under construction and needed to develop further). I worked for Youngpwr since the beginning and I'm still creating designs for them. I support the content team with creating social media posts. These designs are offline and online.
In October 2019 I set up my own company since then I've had a few assignments! I love to design and help my clients with their brands.
